Swimming Data
Our pupils benefit from access to Flexi-swimming an arrangement in which we fund one term of up to 14 lessons at a pool close to the childs home address or at the choice of the parent. This approach frees up the time table during the school day, provides lessons that are better suited to ability and is overall a better use of school funds. If you want to know more about this please feel free to contact Mr Malbon our Bursar.

All schools must provide swimming instruction either in key stage 1 or key stage 2.
Our pupils are pupils taught to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively e.g. front crawl, backstoke, breaststroke and to be able to self rescue in different water based situations.

The pools we currently work with are Bakewell, Buxton, Cheadle (Staffs), and Leek. Each pool offers a rolling programme of swimming lessons using the Swim England Staging system of Discovery and Learn to Swim Stage 1 to 11 and above. We already have a number of pupils who are at Stage 11 in Y6.
