Prevent:
The Prevent Duty is the duty in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, which has an aim of preventing people from being drawn into terrorism.
Our Trust aims to protect children from the risk of radicalisation. We aim to build pupils’ resilience to radicalisation and extremism by promoting and celebrating the diversity of British society and values, and discussing how to be a good and caring citizen of the world. It is important to emphasise that the Prevent Duty is not intended to stop pupils debating controversial issues. On the contrary, our Trust can provide a safe space in which children, young people and staff can understand the risks associated with terrorism and develop the knowledge and skills to be able to challenge extremist arguments. This will assist children’s personal, social and emotional development and understanding of the world. We aim to protect children from extremism and violent views.
Educate Against Hate provides practical advice on how you can protect your child from extremism and build their resilience against radicalisation. We all want to support children on their journey to making positive contributions to their communities as active citizens.

Operation Encompass:
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced any domestic abuse.
Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff (Designated Safeguarding Lead), known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have experienced a domestic abuse incident.
We are keen to offer the best support available to all our pupils and we believe that this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
