Visiting our Academy

Prospective parents are welcome to visit our Academy by appointment, or on specific open days that are held throughout the academic year.

Open Days are geared to signpost all families, especially those who predominately Home Educate, to the learning opportunities available here at Hollinsclough Academy.

Alongside regular school attendance, we will also consider applications for Flexi-schooling. However, parents will need to be aware that it is granted at the sole discretion of our Principal, even when there are other children in the same family who may already be Flexi-schooling.

Our approach to education is very popular and for the most part we can become oversubscribed very quickly, but please don’t let this deter you from applying.

Please see the table below for availability and call if needed where indicated. We strongly advise that you register your interest as early as possible to reduce the risk of disappointment.

Class arrangements

To ensure a balanced distribution of pupils we will vary how the two main classes are configured, this is normally done on an annual basis and for instance may mean that a Y3 class could be in the Foxes group or Y4 class could be in the Hedgehogs group.

Admissions Pre-School

For admissions to our Governor run Pre-School class children will only be considered from the start of the term after their third birthday at the earliest. Children should ideally be able to use our toileting facilities and to eat either a prepared meal or packed lunch without requiring support.

Admissions – Main School

All admissions to the main school are subject to our Admissions Policy. In the first instance, priority is given to children from the immediate catchment area around our Academy. Please check our Admissions Policy as this document is reviewed annually and sets out how we apply the various admissions criteria and reflects the religious character of our school.

If places are available we will accept children throughout the year in all age groups, not just in September. This applies to new to school starters of primary age and transfers from other schools. All are subject to place availability and if required, through the application of our Admissions Criteria/Policy.

If you wish to apply for a place or to arrange a visit, please contact the academy directly by emailing the school on

If you are considering Flexi-schooling please visit our Flexi-schooling page and review the information there.

All applications are subject to our Admissions policy each child is treated accordingly, and also includes applications for a Flexi-schooling place.

On occasion due to the popularity of our academy, we will operate a waiting list. You will be informed if a waiting list is in place at the time of your initial contact, or subsequent visit to our academy. On occasion this waiting list can be year group specific. However, please don’t let this prevent your application.
