Visiting our Academy

Prospective parents are most welcome to visit our Academy; please contact school to arrange a look around or a ‘taster session’ for your child.

We offer both full-time places and also a ‘flexi’ attendance pattern, where children must attend a minimum of the three core days each week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) with education supported by parents/carers on the days that the children do not attend school. Please be aware that the flexi option is granted at the sole discretion of our Executive Principal/Head of School; every application is considered taking into account a number of factors and once registered, we will work with parents to help their children to succeed, reviewing the flexi arrangement if the need arises to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children at our setting.

Please see the table below for year group sizes.

Class arrangements

To ensure a balanced distribution of pupils, we may vary how the two main classes are configured, this is normally done on an annual basis and for instance may mean that a Y3 group could be in the Foxes’ class, or Y4 group could be in the Badgers’ class.

Admissions Pre-School

For admissions of pupils to our Pre-School class, children can start at the beginning of the term that comes after their third birthday at the earliest. These dates for entry are 1st September, 1st January, and the first Monday following the Easter holiday.

Children should ideally be able to use our toileting facilities and to eat either a prepared meal or packed lunch without requiring support.

Admissions – Main School

All admissions to the main school are subject to our Admissions Policy, which shows the admissions criteria and reflects the religious character of our school.

If places are available we will accept children throughout the year in all age groups, not just in September, (except for Year 6 pupils where the cut-off is 1st October in any year, unless they live within our catchment). This applies to new to school starters of primary age and transfers from other schools. All are subject to place availability and if required, through the application of our Admissions Criteria/Policy.

If you wish to apply for a place or to arrange a visit, please contact the academy directly by emailing the school. The email address is office@hollinsclough.staffs.sch.uk

If you are considering Flexi-schooling please visit our Flexi-schooling page and review the information there.

If your child’s class or year group is full when you make your application, we can add you to a waiting list if you choose.
