Thank you for taking interest in our Admissions consultation process.
Under the admissions code, we are required to consult all potentially affected parties should our school intend to make changes its policy or as a requirement to do so every seven years, and in this case, the latter applies.
Since our last consultation in 2013 and the implementation of our 2014-21 Admissions policy our school converted to an academy (01/09/2015) and it was decided at the time to continue with our then Admissions Policy. This policy is now due for its statutory review, and again we will be looking to implement it for the maximum seven years permitted under the code, subject to annual review each year.
The core element of the policy remains the same – one area in which the term ‘Benefice of Longnor’ is noted, is now referred to as ‘The Parish of Hollinsclough’. In doing this, we are adopting an area related to our school, which in turn does not imply this school has rights over the catchments of others.
Our school is well known for its offer and support of Flexi-schooling and a defined paragraph on this is now part of the policy to reflect this offer. There are no statutory implications for including this, and it does not grant any special privileges to prospective applicants over those who attend school in the normal way.
The proposed policy has been approved by the Staffordshire CC Admissions and Transport team.
